FREQUENT QUESTION

HOW DOES THE CANOPY WORK?

The Canopy is an adventure sport in which it is possible to zip line from one point to another, using safety equipment such as a harness, helmet, gloves and pulleys.  The guides give a talk in which you will learn the safety methods used during the tour.

IS A LOT OF WALKING INVOLVED?

The first cable begins on a platform.  You walk from the arrival site of one cable to the departure site of the next one.  The walks vary between 4m and 150m.

AM I ALONE DURING THE JOURNEY?

The canopy tour includes a minimum of two trained guides who will accompany you throughout the route and work with the equipment and cables.  The participants cross the cables one by one except for children, if you are too nervous to go alone, or you are doing one of the tricks in which you will be accompanied by a guide.

HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN THE CABLES RESIST?

We exclusively use brand name equipment that is recognized and certified worldwide for its quality and resistance.  The breaking point for harnesses, carabineers and slings is 22Kn (approx. 4800 lbs.), and the cable resistance is 6,800 kg (approx. 15,300 lbs.)

DO I WEIGH TOO MUCH TO DO THE CANOPY?

The maximum weight for the canopy is 150 Kg (approx. 330 lb).  It depends more on the shape of each person than the weight, because the harness must fit correctly.  We have S, M, L, & XL harnesses.

STARTING AT WHAT AGE CAN THE CANOPY BE DONE?

From 6 years old and above, and considering that the child wants to do the canopy and is willing to go with a guide if necessary.  The upper age limit depends on the physical shape the person is in, taking into consideration restrictions for people with cardiac problems, high blood pressure and women who are pregnant.

DO I NEED TO BE STRONG?

You don’t need to be in great shape to do the canopy; if you can take a 10 minute walk you’re fit enough.

CAN I DO IT WITH MY CHILD?

Children and people who are afraid must go with a trained guide and not with a family member or friend.  The reason for this is that the guides are trained to accompany people and act immediately if the tourist has any questions or reactions that could occur.  Everyone walks together on the trails and waits at each platform, so you’ll be with your family and friends.WHAT TO TAKEInsect repellant, comfortable shoes, long pants, light weight rain jacket, and the desire to enjoy nature and adventure.
